Kirby & the Amazing Mirror GBA Video Game Review

We review the Kirby & the Amazing Mirror multiplayer video game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance!

Kirby, the heroic pink puffball who can swallow peeps and take their powers, is on another adventure. Some bad-news mirrors have shown up in Mirror World and they've split Kirby into four different-colored puffballs. Now it's up to you and three of your friends to link your GBAs and save the day in this multiplayer game! Here's a review of this new Gameboy Advance video game:

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Game Basics

The Kirbster does all the basic running and jumping stuff in this side-scrolling adventure game. He also has his ability to inhale bad guys faster than this dude can scarf hot dogs. Plus, he can take their powers to learn really cool attacks - like all his moves from Super Smash Brothers!

Fantastic Fun With Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

What kicks this Kirby adventure into awesome mode is that Kirby has been split up, like Link in the Zelda Four Swords Adventures, so there are four puffballs on the job. This means you can hook up to four GBAs together and play with your friends. The best part is that you can all do your own thing and split up, but each Kirby has a cell phone that can summon the other Kirbys in emergencies! If you're playing single-player, the rest of the Kirbys don't do much, but you can still call 'em for help.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Bad News

The biggest bummer is that, if you're playing single-player, Kirby's three buddies are about as useful as an automatic nose-picker. Unless you can get some friends together to play with, being able to call in the other Kirbys as backup isn't that useful.

Does Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Save the Day?

It's a solid single-player Kirby adventure that rocks if you can get some friends together for multiplayer mayhem.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Age Rating: E

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Thumbs Up:

  • Multiplayer puffball action.
  • The Kirbster has his own cell phone now.
  • Lots of cool moves and powers to play with.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Thumbs Down:

  • The other Kirbys are dumb as posts in single-player.
  • Some characters are way too cheesy.
  • Bosses cheat when they fight!

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror Game Rating: 4
