In the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Game box you get a bunch of plastic monsters, weird dice, maps of dungeons and some books. The books tell you how to figure out if your brave fighter can thwack the goblin with his sword, what happens when the sorcerer casts a spell and the rest of the 411 on how to play the game. Plus, there's a beginner dungeon to get you started on adventuring.

Heroic Coolness in the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Game

The trickiest thing about the Dungeons & Dragons game is learning how to play, but the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Game explains everything so it's easy to get on with the monster bashing. The plastic monsters are cool too, especially cuz they're the same as the creatures from the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures game so you can use all those monsters in this game.
