Be boho chic with these clothes and accessories.
Get the Bohemian Look

Bohemian Chic - Top Trend

If you haven't already noticed, the bohemian look is the hottest trend of the moment. Inspired by gypsies, ethnic patterns and the '70s hippie scene, the boho trend is all about looking like you just threw on some clothes without thinking. African, Indian and Asian prints are combined with western pieces that allow you to mix and match clothes to create your own unique look. It's comfortable, earthy and feminine. But the best thing about the boho wardrobe? It's cheap - just scour thrift stores for cool vintage finds, like beaded tanks, lace scarves and eclectic jewelry.

Bohemian Chic - Get the Look

To be a bohemian beauty, you'll need to put away those skin-tight clothes. Skirts are the star of this fashion trend, so look for peasant or prairie skirts in solid colors (think chocolates, teals and rich burgundies) or ethnic-inspired prints, which you can wear with plain, fitted tanks and flip flops. If you're not into skirts, then pair your jeans with embroidered tops or floaty tunics. And don't worry about overdoing it - bohemian clothes look great with layered accessories so pile on some long necklaces and chunky bracelets, wrap a funky belt around your waist and step out in boots or beaded sandals.

It's important to think about why you are wanting to wear the makeup. If you are wanting it to impress someone, then chances are makeup is not the solution. When you are in middle school the need to impress escalates greatly. You do not always need to impress people with your looks. Impress them with your mind, blow them away with how good you are in a certain topic or how fast you read your assigned readings. Being pretty is something everyone strives to be, but how about being pretty smart, pretty funny, pretty kind, pretty helpful. There's all kinds of pretty. Now, if you are doing your makeup because it's fun and something you enjoy doing then by all means do it. Makeup can be an art, no matter what people say. I have many friends who's general art skills have increased because they can do their winged eyeliner perfectly, or their contour is just right. The point to all this is simple. Do the makeup for you, not for others. Please talk to your mom respectively about the topic and see if she changes her mind, and please do not be discouraged if she doesn't.  I hope this helps.
