Simon and His Dog

I've just come back from my first outdoor adventure of the summer. My brother and I went hiking with my dog Ralph last weekend. I usually find my brother super annoying because he's always showing off and acting like a massive idiot when he's hanging around with his friends. But he was actually pretty fun to be around on this time.

We packed our fishing rods and drove to this lake about an hour outside of the city. We didn't end up catching any fish but we both got bitten about 500 times by mosquitoes. We brought my dog, Ralph, as well. He was super happy to come because he spends most of the day running around the yard and doesn't usually travel to very many cool places. But I don't think Ralph ended up having too much fun. While we were busy fighting off mosquitoes, Ralph got into a nasty confrontation with a skunk. We didn't see the skunk but he certainly left a mark on my poor dog, which meant a long, stinky car ride home.

I hosed down Ralph pretty good and washed him with tomato juice when we got home, but he still smells. My dad's kind of upset that his car smells like skunk, so I don't think he'll be letting my brother borrow the car again anytime soon. And I don't think Ralph will be too keen to join me on any future adventures.
