Survivor Episode 9

Ding-dong the witch is dead! This was the episode that everyone was waiting for. Just when you thought Elisabeth was dead in the water - Ogakor broke the alliance and voted off the evil Jerri.

The weather is playing a huge factor in Barramundi's mood lately. It's been raining, their fire keeps going out and no one is a happy camper - especially Jerri. Then the news of a challenge comes and everyone is a little happier at the prospect of food or warmth - or whatever. The group must break off into pairs - one boy, one girl - and it's suggested that they pick their partners in a draw. Jerri says no way. She wants Colby - who doesn't? Tina points out that the draw would be more fair. Jerri says fair isn't what this is all about. Well, the draw is done and the curly-headed whiner ends up with Colby anyway.

The challenge is an obstacle course. A big bad one with lots of climbing and jumping and running. Rodger and Tina are the first pair out - no surprise there. In fact there are no surprises anywhere. The last two teams to compete for the prize are Jerri and Colby against Amber and Keith. It was kinda fun to watch Colby grab Jerri and throw her over the wall - or to see her used as a step for him and watch her fall on her butt. Colby and Jerri win and get to pig out at the Great Barrier Reef - no this isn't an Aussi restaurant - it's one of the natural wonders of the world.

When they get back, Colby presents everyone in the tribe with a piece of coral. Jerri looks even more evil because she hadn't even thought about them. She knows it looks bad too. Of course she doesn't bother to do anythng about it.

The Immunity Challenge is simple: The group must face-off against each other on a series of rickety platforms in the water. They both have to hold onto a rope and tug at each other. The first one in the water loses. Nick wins this one, but that isn't the highlight. The highlight is watching Rodger - it's his best challenge effort to date. With Nick immune, the Ogakor alliance decides that Elisabeth must go next. It's not an easy decision, cuz they all know she rocks and Jerri bites. In the end, sanity prevails and Ogakor decides to break the alliance and vote out their biggest pain. Jerri is booted thanks to votes from Tina, Keith and Colby.

Now it'll be interesting to see if they team back up and vote out another Kucha or if they really forget the alliance and vote out Amber. Afterall, she was Jerri's sidekick.

Who do you think should win it all? .

“Instruction in world history in the so-called high schools is even today in a very sorry condition. Few teachers understand that the study of history can never be to learn historical dates and events by heart and recite them by rote; that what matters is not whether the child knows exactly when this battle or that was fought, when a general was born, or even when a monarch (usually a very insignificant one) came into the crown of his forefathers. No, by the living God, this is very unimportant. To 'learn' history means to seek and find the forces which are the causes leading to those effects which we subsequently perceive as historical events.”
