Athletic Beginnings
Channing Tatum didn't have
acting aspirations all his life. He started out as a rambunctious kid in need of
some guidance and found it in
private school. It was here that he found a passion for sports, especially
football. Channing managed to score
an athletics' scholarship to a college in West Virginia, but he soon realized that football wasn't
the right path for him.
Say Cheese
When Channing Tatum left
college, he took on a variety of jobs from construction to mortgage broker. Not long after his college days though, he started landing
big modeling contracts for companies like
Abercrombie and Fitch, Armani and
American Eagle! Of course, once the world started to be exposed to his
chiseled good looks, it wasn't long before he started getting cast in TV shows and movies.
Big Break
After landing a bit role on the show
CSI: Miami, Channing went on to act in movies like
Coach Carter,
She's The Man and
Step Up. Recently, Channing starred with
Ryan Philippe in Stop Loss, a movie about the war in Iraq. This young star is a
hot commodity in Hollywood right now and has at least half a dozen
movies in the works including two more war movies, Pinkville, and the GI Joe movie. Good thing he knows how to rock the
shaved head.
Did U Know?
Channing was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor award for A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.
His first fashion show was at Level Nightclub in South Beach, Miami in November 2000.
He's is trained in Kung Fu and Capoeira, the Brazilian dance/martial art.
Channing appeared in the popular Drive Mountain Dew commercial.
Channing is a Taurus.
