Staples Invention Quest

We know you're a regular Alexander Gram Bell - or at least a Violet Baudelaire - but why not prove your powers of invention with Staples' Invention Quest Competition? Check out the details of this creative competition.

Staples Invention Quest - What's it All About?

Staples Invention Quest allows peeps to submit their ideas for the next new office product or school supply. For the first time ever, Staples is introducing a kids-only category in partnership with By Kids For Kids. Anyone under the age of 18 can enter their best school supply invention for the chance to win $25,000!

Staples Invention Quest - How to Enter

To enter Invention Quest you can either visit your local Staples store and complete the admission form or enter online at www.inventionquest.com. The winner will receive a $25,000 cash prize, plus royalties if the product is created and sold by Staples. Fifteen additional finalists will each get a cash prize of $5,000. Staples Invention Quest winners will be chosen in April 2007. The deadline for entry is November 27, 2006 so get inventing!

Staples Invention Quest - Brainstorming Ideas

  • Try to think of something that would make your school life easier or more interesting. If your pencil is always dull maybe you could invent a self-sharpening pencil!
  • Improve upon what you've already got. Maybe you really like those magnetic picture frames in your locker. Why not improve upon them by designing frames that automatically rotate a series of pictures - or play a song when you open your locker.
  • The more, the merrier. Come up with as many ideas as you can and then see which ones will be easiest to develop into the real thing.
  • For more information on the Staples Invention Quest, head to www.inventionquest.com

{I don't know much about Outertale, so pardon me if I get this wrong, but it takes place in space, right? You'll have to help me a bit. .} (("Um... Ok!" Papyrus accepts the sketchbook, opening it to a fresh page. "What do I do first?"))

"I'm fine, but thank you for the offer though!" Blue said happily, looking up for a moment, before continuing his work. (the story seems to be going nowhere in Underswap... a suggestion of visiting Outertale has been given)  (PunMaster smiled. "It's not too hard. You just have to practice. Want me to show you?" She offered)

{Oh. Well. I had hoped we could've done something with that... but, nvm then.} (Just saying, when a Sans uses a "short-cut", I like to pretend they creates a wormhole that goes into the void. Iron teleports, which is him warping space and time to make himself be in another place. He uses this power to also travel to other universes.)  When I saw nothing in that infinite nothing, I returned to my-... No, their house. I could smell spices and meat cooking, the scent wafting from an open window. I teleported into the kitchen to see Blue, as he had said, cooking tacos. "Need any help?" I had been cooking for myself most of the time, since I was almost never at home with Paps, so I had acquired some skill in the matter. ((Papyrus begins to see his face etched into the paper. "Wow! You're amazing! I-.. I couldn't do anything like that..."))

Papyrus was indeed not in the void. He'd been in the middle of teleporting to his room.  (She didn't respond for a little bit, erasing a few ghost like lines that worked as the original faint outline. "Us." She responded)

In the blink of an eye-socket, I had scanned the entire underground, blinking in and out of reality to check every possible location. He wasn't there. I checked the only other place left, teleporting into the infinite black that is the void. "Hello? Papyrus? Please tell me you're not in here. Did I miss you somewhere?" (("What are you drawing?" Papyrus couldn't tell from the early sketch.))
