Dwight Howard - Southern Boy
Dwight Howard was
born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia - growing up with his Georgia State Trooper
father and his
teacher mom. Since he was in
preschool, Dwight attented Southwest Atlanta Christian School. By the time he was a senior in high school, Dwight had been named the
National High School Player of the Year.
Dwight Howard - Pro Career
The Orlando Magic made Dwight the
first overall pick in the
2004 NBA Draft. He was named to the All Rookie Team and was the
youngest player in history to average over 10 points and 10 rebounds in a season. In the 2005-06 season, Dwight pulled down an amazing
26 rebounds in a single game versus the
Philadelphia 76ers! Dwight's play has dramatically improved this season and he was named to the
2007 NBA All Star Team. He has been compared to a young
Tim Duncan because of his rebounding ability and
offensive skills. He was also named ESPN's NEXT athlete of 2007.
Dwight Howard - Olympian
Dwight Howard was named to the
US National Team that won a bronze medal in the 2006 FIBA
World Championships in Japan. It was that
summer where Howard really
grew as a player and took his game to the next level. Dwight has also commited to the national team
2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. You can bet on Howard being a big factor for that team, as they try to bring a
gold medal back to the USA.

As a child, Dwight wrote down his goals and posted them over his bed. To this day he still does that.
Dwight enjoys practicing magic tricks, bowling and doing impersonations.
Dwight Howard was recently featured on Extreme Makeover Home Edition as he helped with the building of a house when the show came to Orlando.
