I wake up screaming. Today was the reaping. It was my first year being allowed into the Hunger Games. If i got picked, I know I would be dead meat. I decided to take a walk around district 12. Then I see my best friend, Rick. "Hey Rick.... you nervous to?"
"Yea.... I don't like this...." Does anybody?" I respond.
Rick and I walk to the reaping. Me and Rick look at each other. Then, we left each other.
Two women stood next to each other, holding what looked like needles. There was a huge line. Of course i knew i had to stand in it. When the women told me it was my turn, my belly went into a loop. They took the needle and poked my finger. Man, it hurt! Then, I had to go it the 12 year old section.
a lady with a pink wig and blue eyes comes out on the stage. "Boys first!" She said in a cheery voice.
