Do you think it's right for parents to force their religion upon their children? Is there a line between Sunday morning church assemblies and an unhealthy obsession with god? I'm not talking about parents dressing their children up in their Sunday best and dragging them to church even though the kid would rather stay at home. I'm asking whether or not it's right and healthy to bring your kids up in a somewhat narrow-minded religious home without allowing them room to ask questions. Not whether or not taking them to church is abusive.

i dont think that religion is child abuse. i am mormon! (LDS) we go to church learn about what is right. there might be some fights about religion, but it isnt child abuse. -KKis#4

I agree. I didn't necessarily mean child abuse in the extreme ways like physical abuse or neglect, but rather as disallowing their children to make their own choices, even as they get older and smarter and grow up. But all in all, I agree with what you're saying

Alright my dear, what would you suggest as an alternative?  Would you recommend teaching them all the religions, and letting them take their pick?  It seems logical, I suppose.  What's your viewpoint on the subject?

I think it's highly immoral to push religion onto children. But it's only child abuse in some cases.

Well it depends on how religos u r some ppl are so religos that they forse them into a morrow minded path to life on the news a couple of months a go a Muslim parents killed there child cas she wasent *respecting* there Allah or doing wat Muslim women should do and becoming more western I'm not religos I'm the biggest atheaest u'll ever see I'm very opened minded I'm not saying chriteans a nd the others arent but explore the other things other than just respecting ur god
