The promises of the God of Man are enticing. What is a lifetime of servitude for eternity in paradise? Even a skeptic has to admit to himself that the idea is inviting.

It is for this temptation that Man still believes. The promise of salvation at the hands of a loving God.

Christianity isn't a dead religion because the Spanish Christians came to the Americas and made Missions. They taught the Native Americans Christianity and how they lived. Many of them tried to flee, but the Mission's soldiers always brought them back. They were forced to stay forever until they died. They worshiped daily and worked on farms and fields until it was time to worship.  This is how Christianity came to be in America. I don't know about other countries.

bad things happen like the plague...however in the bible it was man who brought sin to the world (if you ever read it: not saying you did not)  The church was bad by saying that you can only get to heaven threw the church (but the bible said something compleatly different)  Bad people ran the church yeah... but they got brought to justuce right?

I believe it's simply because Christianity and other gives people something to rely on. When times get tough, and people feels like there is no hope left, they turn to religion to help them get by. It gives them something to rely on and believe in. Despite the outcomes in the past, many still believe that praying, going to church, etc, will in return bring them prosperity.

Nope. Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, etc all went unpunished because they're A-OK in the eyes of the church.

Romen catholic church i know.... BUT they LOST.... besides punishment came laiter on if you can reamember.  Martin Louther (not king)  started reading the bible to people and alot turnd away from the church but not faith... and sometime after, followers of the church knew it was wrong to be wershiping idles, so they went in and distroyed all of the status (and so on) in the church, that were not of God.
