My first period.
Age: 14
Date: 10/21/16
Story:  It was 8th period and class was almost over, meaning school was almost over. I had HORRIBLE cramps and was on the verge of crying. I kept saying my stomach hurt not once did I think it was my period. My dad suggested it but I 'knew' that wasn't it. Later that day around 5 or so I went to the restroom and it turned out it WAS my period.
When I told someone: I told my mom the next day (Saturday) after gymnastics practice.
What I used: I actually started out using tampons since I'm a gymnast.
What I use now: Still using tampons but pads at night or when I'[m lazy lol
How I'm doing now: My periods have been regular since day 1 so I'm doing fine, less cramping but much heavier!

Age: 10 1/2. Maybe 11.
Date: Maaaan, I don't even remember the season.
Story:  I was laying in bed either after school or on a day I was off. I had some weird discharge I'd never see before, but no other signs. I got up, went to the bathroom, and there was blood. Not really a big deal. :^)
When I told someone: I had to tell my mom moment of because I had nothing to clean up with.
What I used: Pads. Pads. Pads. I was 11, dude.
What I use now: Now I use tampons like a big kid when I bleed enough. B)
How I'm doing now: I actually had to be put on birth control around the first year I had started because I bled too much for a week every month, causing me to become extremely anemic. But, now besides some awful cramps and the first day always being the worst, my periods are normal. :^)

I was 11 1/2 when I got mine, so it hasn't even been a year, but it does drain out all the energy in my body  Frown

It hasn't ever overflowed for me during school yet, I just carry pads around just in case

Age: 10
Date: Gosh, I can't remember. Some time in 2008 xD
Story: I was getting ready for bed when I noticed it. I hadn't felt anything before that. Nothing exciting.
When I Told Someone: That evening. I told my mom.
What I Used: A pad.
What I Use Now: Same brand of pads. I've tried a couple of different kinds but I just stuck with that one.
How I'm Doing Now: I use birth control so they're very normal, but a few months after my first period I was very sick. I would have cramps so bad that I'd be throwing up all day and couldn't even keep pain killers down. Once I was brought to the emergency room because it was so bad. But since starting birth control things have been average. Being biologically female but not fully identifying with that gender, I do plan to take medication later to stop them all together.

AGE: 12
DATE: 07/12/16 (uk date)
STORY: I was at school, and didn't notice all day, didn't have any cramps. When I got home I went to the loo. I noticed it, knew exactly what it was then panicked. My mum came in about 10 seconds after, and I just pretended everything was ok and went into my room and panicked there.
WHEN I TOLD SOMEONE: I told my mum the day after (Thursday)
WHAT I USED: Pads
WHAT I USE NOW: pads
HOW I'M DOING NOW: Regular since first day. I only really cramp leading up to my period, and one day1/2. A lot heavier!
