1) The Mayans had a calendar which predicted many things. But when you really think about it, when did they predict the world is going to end? Sure, the calendar ended on December 21st, 2012 but every calendar has to end at some point. It’s like saying I bought a calendar from Walmart in the beginning of this year & because it ends on December 31, 2012 I guess that means that’s when the world is going to end? Another thing is that the Mayan calendar was written on a rock. A rock. Rocks run out of space, right?
2) In May of 2003, there was a discovery about a new planet called Niburu (also known as Planet X) was going to crash into us. It never happened. So the people who discovered it moved the date over to December 21st, 2012. Tomorrow. Here’s what I don’t get. The Sun is obviously noticeable. We see it in the sky all the time in daylight. Now, the sun is billions of miles away. If Niburu was going to crash into us tomorrow, I’m pretty sure we would already see it in the sky. Huge even! We probably won’t be able to see the Sun anymore.
3) People say the giant solar flares from the Sun because it is reach it’s end point will hit us making us dry out through the heat. Now there are solar flares & they are active right now. We have been hit & we have noticeable effect on our planet. They made us very pretty & HARMLESS lights in the sky known as the Northern Lights.
Terrifying, I know.
4) One of the most ridiculous theories I’ve heard is how the Sun, the Earth & the Moon will come into a perfect line with the Milky Way galaxy (our galaxy) causing something really bad to happen (that’s literally all the detail they put into it.) Thing is… that happens every year On December 21. EVERY YEAR!! So if that theory was true… the world should have ended a long time ago. So long ago that we wouldn’t be alive. Or our parents. No one would have existed.
My theory is that people are simply stupid (sorry.) or they are fully aware that the world isn't going to end & they are using all of this "Doomsday" nonsense as a way to sell pointless stuff such as tshirts & books & survival kits to the people they are scaring.
Good times & good vibes
