Luke flung out of his seat, crying out a "FLERBLIGLIG" or something like that as he hit the floor. He had scrambled back into his seat before the girl walked in, and then when she sat down he slipped her a note.
Not cool. That almost broke my beautiful face! He was just joking around, though. The girl was
cute, and Luke thought he might like her.
When the papers were taken up, I shifted awkwardly in my seat as I noticed the teacher staring hard at my paper.
"Um...excuse me..."
I knew what was coming.
"Katherine? Er...Mato?"
"Yes sir?" I replied.
"Are...are you sure you're supposed to be in here?"
Several snickers could be heard.
"Yes sir, I have my schedule right here if you'd like to see it."
The teacher marched over as he set the stack down, snatching my schedule from me and making me wince. He scanned it, wide-eyed, and adjusted his glasses before reading it again.
"Remarkable...and you're...fifteen?"
"Yes sir."
"Hm...Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I think you're going to get along fine here."
I didn't say a word. The teacher handed me my schedule back and went back to his desk, and I just sat there doodling the Super Mario Brothers on my notebook.
"You can't get hurt without hurting someone else."
