Romeo Interview

By: Sindy

Kidzworld caught up with Romeo to hear about what he has in store for 2008.

Sindy: The last time we talked to you, you teased us with a little taste of Gumbo Station. Now that it's almost ready to go, how do you feel?
Romeo: Well, you know I'm just really excited about it. I just had to put a few final touches on there. I've got a lot of people making different appearances, I feel it's going to be something special, something different than you've heard before.

Sindy: What are the hot tracks we should be listening for?
Romeo: Well I don't really want to get into that right now, I kinda want to keep it a secret so that when everybody sees it, it surprises them. We've got some great people on there, it's gonna be a mix. There are songs that'll make you laugh, songs that'll make you cry, songs you can dance to.

Sindy: How is this album different from what we've heard from you in the past?
Romeo: I think it just sounds different, I'm maturing as a person. I feel every year and every day I'm working and getting better and I'm just happy to be making music.

Sindy: This has been a busy year for you, movies, music, committing to play basketball at USC. What was the highlight of 2007 for you?
Romeo: Man I'd definitely have to say getting the scholarship to go play D1 basketball this fall at USC. You know a lot of people out there don't know I've been playing basketball since the age of 2. I've been playing in the AAU, Amateur Athletic Union since the age of 9, and being able to accomplish that with my busy schedule and still being able to make music for the fans and have a number one TV show is a great accomplishment.

Sindy: College basketball is a serious sport! How do you find time to stay in shape with your busy schedule?
Romeo: Well people don't know that's all I do, I book my day around working out, that's all I do. I work out two to three times a day and if you want to play D1 basketball, or even be an athlete you have to have that installed in your mind. You know working out is kinda part of me now, I eat sleep and breathe it.

Alright let me start out by saying that, I do not think you should be forced to like anime. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions out what they watch. But their is some bogus reason to why people say they hate it. 1. "Anime is For Kids" - Alright we all know this isn't true. Sure some are directed towards kids but ones like Tokyo Ghoul, Attack On Titan, Boku no Pico, and several others that would definitely change people's mind. 2. "Anime is a bad influence" - And Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead arent?  3. "Anime has very inappropriate messages to them that are harmful to children and adults" - Doesnt everything have their little "parodies" of the original that may have a rating of Triple X? If its out there, there is a "parody" of it. Not just anime.
