Celebrities' Secret Skills

There are a ton of actors out there that have more than one talent. From painting, to dancing, to singing in a band, some celebrities seem to be able to do it all. Check out what your fave celebs are up to when they aren't making movies or putting out albums.

Josh Hartnett Paints

Josh Hartnett, star of Pearl Harbor and Hollywood Homicide, is more than just a teen heartthrob. In high school, Josh was a football star who had a passion for painting. When Josh Hartnett tore a ligament in his leg while playing ball, he starred in the school's version of Huck Finn to keep himself busy. "I never really considered acting as a career, I kind of fell into it. Originally, I wanted to be a painter. But, after being Huck Finn, they gave me a standing ovation and it was so cool that I decided then and there to keep doing it," said Josh. After he finished filming 40 Days and 40 Nights, Josh Hartnett took a break to travel in Africa and brush up on his oil painting hobby. "It relaxes me because it's just me and the canvas and there's no right way or wrong way."

Andre 3000's Canvas

Andre Benjamin (aka Andre 3000 of Outkast) isn't satisfied only taking the hip-hop world by storm, so he's making waves in the art scene too. Andre has been painting since he was a kid and now that his music career is on fire (is there a person on the planet who hasn't heard Hey Ya?) he's taking time to pursue his other gift. In a case of art immitating life, Andre 3000 paints with a bold, funky, surreal style, which is the same way he approaches his music.

David Arquette Sprays Up a Storm

So you all know that David Arquette married his Scream co-star (and Friends star) Courtney Cox, and that he's been in some cool movies but did you know that he is also a graffiti artist? Yup, David Arquette even spray-painted an ocean scene on the outside of their bedroom wall so they could pretend they were at the beach!

Viggo Mortensen - Lord of the Poems

You know Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings trilogy but did you know he's a published poet too? In 1993, Viggo published Ten Last Night, which is a collection of his poems. Then in 1999, Mortensen released Recent Forgeries, a collection of his poems, paintings and photography. The book also comes with a CD of Viggo Mortensen's songs. Can you say multi-talented?

Keanu Reeves' Band

Blockbuster star of The Matrix and Speed, Keanu Reeves is another actor who started up his own band, Dogstar. And what does Keanu Reeves have to say to people who think he's just using his movie fame to get his music heard? "I admit that my acting career has given us some opportunities to be heard, and we are grateful for that. But in the end it comes down to the music, and I feel good about what we are doing."

Jack Black Sings a Song

And one actor whose music career is taking off just as well as his acting career is Jack Black. You'll remember him from School of Rock as the crazy substitute teacher or Colin Hanks' dumb older brother in Orange County. Jack Black's hilarious band, Tenacious D, has made almost as many headlines as his acting antics.

In my opinion, cursing in general is pretty tasteless. It's not exactly a behavior to admire.  However, in regards to the question, I don't think people who are 13 and under should be cursing. Not to sound condescending to those who are younger than me, but my reasoning is, many people who are in that particular age group don't fully comprehend the weight expletives carry.  Here is an example: A mother is out running errands in heavy traffic. Her 6 year old son is seated in the back of the car.  As she's about to make a turn, another vehicle cuts her off. Irritated, she curses the offender under her breath, unaware that her son has heard her. Later, while in a check-out line at a supermarket, her son, growing restless, stomps his foot and yells the same curse. The six year old didn't understand what he was saying, he was repeating what he'd heard from his mother. He didn't understand that the word was inappropriate and potentially offensive.  The average 13 year old (or even a 10 year old, for that matter), however, would understand that it was inappropriate and that it was offensive.

I believe that it would be beneficial if we kinda cut down on the baby making. The more people on earth, that means that more resources are being used. In a way gays are doing you a favor. Odds are, early on, gays were most likely killed for being different. So it wasn't like they had to chance to evolve .   If gays/lesbians we made to have babies then gays would not even exist. Just because a century old book says that gays cant be married doesn't mean people are going to listen to it. Modify you bible to the now times. Rules change, so should your's. Interesting... And how do you suggest we do that? Prevent people from having children? Slowly dispatch of the current population? I'm sorry. Life is the most precious  gift. I don't believe we have the right take that away from another. *cough cough* Back to the main topic at hand... I agree that "there are plenty of people, gay and straight, that love each other." You're not wrong in that assumption. However, there are all kinds of love -though at the root core it comes with willing the good others. (We should "love one another as He has loved us.") But the attraction and desire to be with another as as man and wife can be one? That's called lust. As a Christian, I believe that such physicality should be reserved for marriage with the intention of bringing new life into the world.  Like any group seen as different, homosexuals have been persecuted (ex: WWII) -as they still are. But let's take a looksie back in the past, shall we? In some cultures such as the Roman? Homosexual relationships were actually encouraged. Specifically, male relationships -many, not all, between those of striking age differences. Now do you believe these were sought out for pleasure or out of love? Haha, actually? The Book's been around for well over a century now... Perhaps, maybe there just might be a sufficient reason as to why. Now, to change the rules? Sorry,  no can do. They aren't mine to alter,  though they're certainly mine to follow (;     Amen to that!
