Gossip Girl :: The Girl's Fashion

If you're like us, you tune into Gossip Girl every week just to find out what Serena and her cohorts were wearing on the latest episode. Each girl has a unique style, be it laid-back, classy, or quirky, and puts a sassy twist on her traditional school uniform. Find out how to get the look of the girls from Gossip Girl!

Serena van der Woodsen

Spotted - Serena van der Woodsen running around town with her Brooklyn BF, Dan Humphrey, in a killer pair of grey suede over-the-knee boots! Cool and carefree, this Upper East Side It girl always looks amazing, even though her outfits look like they've been thrown on without much thought put into them. Her disregard for high society shows in her bohemian sense of fashion, which includes a huge collection of hats, scarves and boots, which she wears with everything from school uniforms and skinny jeans to dresses and leggings.

Blair Waldorf

Blair Waldorf always looks prim and polished from head to toe in her school uniform blazer, ruffled blouse, pearl bracelet, "B" diamond necklace and of course, that signature bow headband. Like the penthouse apartment she lives in, this queen bee enjoys the finer things in life, like diamonds, pearls and anything designer. Blair's style is inspired by chic, feminine pieces of Old Hollywood, but she's also into argyle sweaters and button-down shirts with pretty details on the cuffs and collar, as she's the preppiest of the girls on the Upper East Side.

Jenny Humphrey

Jenny Humphrey doesn't have the big budget of S and B, so she buys her clothes from vintage shops and sews and recreates them into cool pieces. She also mixes it up with designer castoffs that she gets from Blair to create a unique look that's all her own. She spices up her school uniform with cute accessories like funky flats and bags, colorful tights, knee socks and loads of bangles. She even wears hair elastics that double as bracelets!

I don't know you and I'm not exactly sure how you act, but being friendly is definitely the way to go. Don't change yourself for ANYBODY. Especially someone who you don't need to impress. Speaking of impressing, don't try, do. If you are telling a story and that happens to impress them than that's great! But don't go out of your way to try to make yourself look awesome because I'm sure you already are. Be yourself. But the most important thug now you can do is not try to make a million friends. Because personally I would rather have one AWESOME friend than a million ok friends. I hope this helped. :)

Be yourself and most important of all, be kind. You will get great friends by doing so. Being popular doesn't always mean being nice; sometimes people tend to be rude and bossy to be "popular" and that isn't good. But if you participate or even start a group at school, at the library or somewhere important in the community (community service like the Rotary Club is a good way to start for kids and teens) can be a great way to meet friends and share your happiness.
