Power-up the Gladiator Beasts and unleash Darklord Zerato with this new Yu-Gi-Oh! card game set. We review it here.

Yu-Gi-Oh! duelists have a lot of new yugioh cards coming in the new Phantom Darkness set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game! It has 100 new cards that come in 9-card booster packs with a rare card in every pack. It's packed with gladiator, samurai and gemini cards, plus new monsters, traps and loads of uber Dark cards. Gary has the 411 on these new yugioh cards with his Phantom Darkness review!

Cards and Combos

The Dark Armed Dragon in this set is the king of all Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters now, plus there are tons of cards that combo with older cards. Here's the 411
  • Gladiator Beasts - New monsters, new abilities and new combo cards give these monsters some bite!
  • Dark Armed Dragon - 2800 Attack, easy to summon and with the ability to blast one of your opponent's cards each turn - this dragon is one of the strongest cards in the game!
  • Samurai - More cards power-up the samurai from the Strike of Neos set.
  • Gemini Monsters - There are more cards for gemini decks in this set.
  • The Calculator - This common card can become incredibly powerful!
  • Dark Deck Delights - If you play decks loaded with Dark monsters, this set is packed with cards that will give you a boost!
  • More Power!

There are a bunch of awesome things in this set - not only is it full of cards you can add to almost any kind of deck, it also has a pile of fantastic monsters and super-sweet Dark cards. Including Dark Armed Dragon and Darklord Zerato! Calculator is a blast too - it powers-up for every creature you play and can get huge. Finally, unlike most Yu-Gi-Oh! sets that are packed with useless cards, almost all the cards in this one are worth playing!

    Lame, Lame and More Lame

Rare, Super Rare and Secret Rare. That's where the really good yugioh cards are hiding out - so don't expect to get many unless you drop serious $$$ on this set. Also, all the powerful Dark cards mean that nearly any other kind of deck will get squished.

    Darkness FTW?

Loaded with good cards that combine with lots of older decks, and packed with some incredibly powerful new cards, Phantom Darkness is a great set! It can cost an arm and a leg to get the best cards, but you don't need to spend a fortune to get a bunch of really good cards.

    Thumbs Up:

  • The Calculator = awesome. Plus, you can win with math!
  • Filled with cards that power-up old decks.
  • Dark Armed Dragon, Darklord Zerato, Dark Grepher - the awesome cards
  • Lots of common cards you can actually use!
  • Thumbs Down:

  • Costs a lot of $$$ to get the good rare cards.
  • All the best cards are Dark cards.
  • Rating: 5

I like both. I find Magic to be a more complicated version of Yu-Gi-Oh and I find a Yo-Gi-Oh a less complicated version of Magic.
