Join the gang from Madagascar in a whole new adventure from the folks at Activision. If you are a big fan of hilarious animal escapades, this is the game for you. Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and Julien the Lemur King are together again, in this action packed adventure! To get back to their cushy New York zoo, the troublesome penguins have fixed (sort of!) a plane for the other animals. When the plane crash lands in Africa the gang must begin on a wacky journey through the African plains!

Ahhh! Nature! It's all over me! Get it off!

Like most movie adaptations, the game is peppered with great cut scenes from the movie! Ever get bored playing with the same character? In this game you get to play as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo. Each character has special abilities, so it’s a good idea to make sure you remember how each character jumps, fights and charges!

While adventuring, the gang bump into some wild enemies. Punch, kick, charge, headbutt and throw mangoes to defeat the spitting lizards, crazy human tourists and angry scorpions! You can use the stylus to throw mangoes or make Melman do his spin attack by using the microphone.

Addictive Side Games

The best part of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa are the side puzzles and games. The pesky penguins star in a side scrolling puzzle game where each penguin has a different skill that you have to use to cross the finish line, sort of like the Lemmings games. And of course, who doesn’t love pinball?! The game turns Mort the Lemur into a pinball challenging you to a Madagascar version pinball game. With tons of memory games and Mort as a pinball, these addictive games will keep you busy for hours!

Sluggish Start

The biggest problem with this game is that it starts too slowly. It is a great story, but you can get sick of watching and just want to play. The fighting and adventure also start off way too easy. Everything in the game slowly gets more challenging as you pass levels, but it’s a little too easy to start.

A Wild Adventure!

The game might start off a little slow, but by the time you are on the third level you will find yourself hopelessly addicted. Great side games and a chance to play with all of your fave characters make Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa a great game to adventure through the plains of Africa.

Thumbs Up:

  • Lots of crazy animals.
  • Great story.
  • Fun puzzles & side games.

Thumbs Down:

  • Waste a lot of time watching.
  • The game starts off a bit slow and easy.
  • The main characters all have very similar game play.
