Game Developers

The creators of Harvest Moon have been busy this year. Besides releasing different new exclusives for the Wii, DS, and PlayStation 3, they are also planning to announce a whole bunch of games that will carry Harvest Moon in its title.

The popular puzzle and riddle game, Professor Layton, is rumored to finally see its sequel on August 24th. The game, called Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, has already been out in Japan for two years. About time!

Cooking Mama developer, Majesco, is planning to bring their new game, Flip's Twisted World, to E3. The puzzle/platforming game will feature a game mechanics that allows the player to turn the world right side, upside down and looks to be very fun.

Activision, besides working on the next Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk entry, will be showcasing their new racing game, Blur. Activision has been really excited for Blur, saying that it will change the way racing games are made. Official notes say that the game is like Call of Duty, but for racing. The company is also excited to show off their new DJ Hero game and the turntable peripheral that will go with it. Also on the menu is a new Transformers game and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

The company, however, will get some stiff competition. There is Forza Motorsport 3, a game that has been "secretly" under development for the last year. Competing with DJ Hero is Scratch: Ultimate DJ, which will come with its own peripheral. As well, THQ has recently spread word about their game, Marvel Super Hero Squad, that is very similar to Ultimate Alliance, but features the same super heroes in a more cutesy form doing battle and adventure campaigns.

EA is also bringing their own, more established, racing game, Need for Speed. As well, the developing giant will have EA Sports Active, Tennis, FIFA, Tiger Woods, Madden, and Fight Night at E3, along with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra, MySims Agents, Spore Hero, and TheSims 3. Fans are hoping that Steven Spielberg, who worked with EA to make Boom Blox, will be announcing his next game, codenamed PQRS.
