Back To School Must-Have Supplies

Aug 21, 2014

Whether you love or loathe hitting the books, Kidzworld’s got your guide to the must-have school supplies that’ll make it fun to come back to class!

Stainless Steel or Glass Water Bottle

Look stylish (while doing your part to conserve the earth’s resources) by picking up your own water bottle. Stainless Steel are durable containers and come in lots of different designs—from floral and animal designs to Disney and Nickelodeon characters—the choice is yours!  Glass Bottles often come with silicone sleeves to protect them from breaking. Steer clear of plastic bottles—after some plastic bottles were reported to contain toxic elements, it’s best to play it safe and go with stainless steel.

Running Shoes

Your parents can’t say no to new shoes—get the right ones and they’ll protect your feet from the elements and keep you in shape for gym class. For a classic cool try Converse All-Stars or if you like more support go with some cushiony trainers. These days sneakers come in so many styles and colors that it’s easy to find a cool looking shoe that fits great too.

A Fresh Box Of Crayons

Nothing beats the smell of a new box of crayons. Make sure yours has a sharpener built into the back so you can recapture the crayons’ sharp points that’ll get worn down once you create a few artistic masterpieces. Pencil crayons are probably good too—they’re a little less messy and let you color finer lines..

New Backpack

Your backpack is a great way to express yourself—you can project your love for all things Miley or keep it simple with a nondescript bag. Make sure it’s big enough to fit your homework and your lunch bag and make sure you’re comfortable carrying it on your back—if it’s not comfy when it’s empty, imagine it stuffed with books! You’ll be carrying your backpack for a whole school year, so make sure it’s stylish and durable. There’s no use buying a cool looking bag if it’s going to fall apart in a week!

Dear Dish-It In The Forums

Clarkguild
Dear Dish-it, Sorry to be a burden, but I need some advice. About a year ago, I decided I didn't want to live with my mom and decided to move in with my dad. After my mom found out, she told me "You are no longer my child, go drop dead and rot in hell for all I care." My siblings, especially my twin, began to threaten me and my father's lives if we were to ever step foot near them again. A year later, my dad and I get in massive fights about everything I do wrong and he never seems to try and see my point of view. He often gets ##### and compares me to my mother and his previous exes. I feel lost on what to do. I feel so alone and so...hurt. Do you have any advice? I know it's pathetic of me to rant on here, but I'm clueless and on the verge of snapping.

My dad and I are kind of estranged, we haven't spoken in a year. So my mom decides it would be a good idea to let him message me. He texted me while I was at school and now I have no idea what to do. All he said was 'Hi _, how is school?'. Do I reply? Do I not? If I do, what do I say? My mom and grandparents are no help, they just cracked jokes about it. KidzWorld has helped me with a hell lot of things, I better not be let down this time.

Just act like you were introducing him as one of your friends. Be yourself, wear stuff that’s comfortable. It’s okay to be nervous because everyone will be. Just hang out and have fun.
