The brand-new Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery from Jakks Pacific is the latest in a line of cool cooking toys for girls. It pairs microwavable cake mixes with a fully equipped detailing station that features a Lazy Susan, a battery-powered icing pen, fondant mixes and mini cookie cutters you can use to cut shapes out of dough and decorate your cake creations!

Ace Of Cakes

Another cool feature of this kitchen-based toy is that it features Duff from the Ace Of Cakes reality show. He seems pretty happy to be the spokes-guy for the Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery and makes a pretty good cooking companion, too!

Some Assembly Required

Don’t be too alarmed when you first open up your Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery - there are quite a few little pieces to unpack and put together before you can start honing your cake-decorating abilities. Once you untwist all the little twist ties and release the plastic inserts from their vacuum-molded packaging, you’ll be all set to go. (Here’s a hint: we suggest you wash all the pieces under water before putting the set together. That way you’ll know it’s clean and dust-free before you start cooking!)

I'm known for liking pugs. Literally. At classes I can hear people whispering "Yeah, that's her. She's the one who likes pugs." when they walk by me. I'm just like, "Yep. Nothin' to see here. Just keep on moving."
