Nathan Kress Interview

Aug 05, 2014

Kidzworld got a chance to sit down and talk to Nathan Kress. You know him best as Freddie in Nickelodeon’s hit show, iCarly. Check it out!

In this season of iCarly, Nathan says that “Freddie continues to mature…[he] gains a little independence from his mom [and] the Creddie-ship is explored in one episode.” Gibby fans will be elated because Freddie says he’ll be in “lots of episodes next season” and the audience gets to meet his little brother!

The End of iCarly?!

According to Nathan, the answer is No way! Nathan says fans of iCarly have nothing to worry about—when he mentioned the cast was “winding down,” he didn’t mean the series was winding down too! “We’re on hiatus for a few months and will be returning to production next year,” Nathan says. “We had done 45 straight episodes, so everyone needed a break before continuing on!”

Acting Or...?

If Nathan wasn’t acting, he’d like to be behind the camera. “I can't imagine not acting,” he says, “but maybe one day I'll do something else in the entertainment industry. I have great respect for the cinematographers, the sound engineers, and all the crew on set. They work really hard and it really does take a huge team of contributors to make a successful final product.”

Cautious Cruiser

In his free time Nathan’s been enjoying the freedom of his newly-attained driver’s license. “It’s been a great experience so far,” Nathan says. “I think I've seen so many accidents while driving back and forth to Hollywood, that it's been a reality check and has made me a very cautious driver.” What kind of car does Nathan drive? “Right now, I've got a very practical Toyota—good gas mileage and very safe...but my dream car is a silver 2010 Camaro. Maybe next year!”

Road Rules

Back when Nathan had just received his driving permit, he had a hilarious run-in with some fans. “I was driving with my mom, waiting at a stop light, when a school bus with junior high kids stopped right in front of me. Before I knew it, several girls were at my car window screaming and taking pictures of me with their cell phones! I wanted to be friendly and greet them, but the light turned green, so I just waved and drove off!” Hopefully now Nathan’s fans know he wasn’t snubbing them—sorry guys, even actors need to obey the rules of the road!
