Miranda's road to Nickelodeon stardom began at a restaurant in Los Angeles where an agent saw her singing and dancing and was impressed enough to sign her to his talent agency. After elementary school, Miranda started home schooling so she could focus on acting and modeling. Appearing in a McDonald's commercial was one of Miranda's first big gigs.Big News in 2002
In 2002, Miranda auditioned for, and landed, the role of snobby Summer Hathaway in the successful comedy, School of Rock, starring Jack Black. At the same time, she found out that the pilot she had filmed for Nickelodeon, Drake and Josh, had been picked up. Things were looking good! Miranda starred as Megan Parker, Drake Bell's little sis, and the show was one of Nickelodeon's most successful, staying on air for four seasons. Now established as one of Nickelodeon's brightest young stars, Miranda got her own show, iCarly.Don't Stop the Music
iCarly features three kids who run a webcast and accept real videos submitted by fans on-line. Right now, iCarly is one of Nick's top-rated shows, and Miranda even sings the theme song! In addition to continuing to work on iCarly and film Drake and Joshfilms, Miranda has just signed with Columbia Records as a recording artist. June 10th marks the release of iCarly iPlaylist, an album featuring four songs by Miranda plus tracks by Sean Kingston, Avril Lavigne, Natasha Bedingfield, and The Naked Brothers Band. "I definitely want to go to college. That's a big thing with me. I have a few friends, that we're like, already planning, and we want to go to the same college, which would be really fun.
