San Francisco Rush 2049 :: N64 Game Review

Dec 27, 2006

If you're ready for some wicked racing action then SFR 2049 will bring it on for ya. The hot arcade action of San Francisco Rush 2049 has been converted to the DreamCast and the N64, sadly the GBC version doesn't come across so well.

The graphics are hot stuff, the sounds are decent and the action is hardcore. Once you hit the tracks you'll find that racin' head-to-head with the other cars is hardcore. The best way to the #1 spot is to duck through subways, dodge down dirt roads, and pull death defying leaps from rooftop to rooftop. Speedin' through side roads let's you find the hidden tokens too - find enough and you'll unlock more cars and tracks to race on.

Sunt mode is nuts. You take your vehicle and perform aerial loops, flips and twists then land on all 4 wheels to score big. Adding wings to your car helps keep you in control as you spin madly through the air, without 'em you'd go wacko trying to rack up points.

The combat mode is kinda goofy, it feels like something they tacked on at the last minute just for laughs. Still it's a hoot to play and let's you unload against your friends in head to head vehicular action.

San Francisco Rush 2049 has some serious arcade action and enough replayability to clock in as a sweet game. A little more polish and it could've been great but it's still good.

Race through the dazzling streets of San Francisco in the hottest car you can handle.
