Hey Coach,

I play competitive softball (ASA). My friends, my teachers and my whole entire SCHOOL don't believe me because they all play rec softball, which is less competitive. They all think that I am lying!!!!! My PE coaches are the only ones that believe me! And that is only because they teach SPORTS!!! Trust me, I have tried sooooooooooooooo many things! JUST PLEASE HELP ME AND GIVE ME SOME ADVICE!!

Dear softball luver,

Playing competitive softball to impress your friends shouldn't be your biggest priority. And besides, most people aren't impressed anyways when you talk about your own achievements. Even if you were to get your parents to film your playing softball, and you made some spectacular all-star plays, and then you played it on a big-screen projector at your school assembly, you'd run the risk of looking very conceited (that means all about yourself). So be careful whenever you feel yourself trying to impress your friends.

People are more impressed when you don’t try to show off and you just let your actions and abilities speak for themselves. Ask your PE teacher to run a softball game during class and play your best - everyone will see that you're talented and you won't have to say a word.
