Madden NFL 11

Are you ready for some football? The regular season may be a month away, but gamers know it's really started when the new Madden comes out! This year's title promises to make games quicker to play, with less time spent in the huddle and more on the field. The new GameFlow option cuts down on that time even more by picking plays for you every down. Also, web-famous sports commentator Gus Johnson joins Madden for the first time, ready to yell with excitement at the big late-game touchdowns.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Coming out next week for the Playstation Network and two weeks later for the Xbox Live Arcade, this downloadable Scott Pilgrim game lets you take on Ramona's seven evil exes just like the new movie or original graphic novel. You can play as Scott, Ramona, Kim, or Stephen either on your own or with a friend. It's a classic-style side-scrolling beat-em-up with RPG elements, with pixel art graphics to fit the retro mood. Maybe the most awesome addition: Anamanaguchi, the retro chiptune punk band, made the soundtrack, which like Scott Pilgrim itself, is as geeky as possible and as awesome as possible at the same time.

Victoria 2

From the makers of Hearts of Iron, Victoria 2 lets you play as any nation in the world in the 19th century as they industrialize, colonize, and try to become a great power. Yup, it's a history/grand strategy game, and it will teach you history better than your social studies classes, and in a cooler way. The best game for "What-If?" history buffs. What if the south won the Civil War? What if Germany never unified? What if the Zulu beat the British colonizers? These are all possibilities in Victoria 2.
