Yogi Bear is out on Blu-Ray + DVD on March 22! In the movie, Jellystone Park is about to be destroyed … and it’s up to Yogi Bear and his pals to save the park before it's too late! Check out Kidzworld's review of Yogi Bear.

Yogi Bear (Dan Aykroyd) and his pal Boo Boo (Justin Timberlake) will stop at nothing to create the perfect picnic basket-stealing device, from a picnic table launching mechanism to the flying Basket Nabber 2000. Yogi’s schemes are doing nothing to help attract visitors to Jellystone Park, and as a result the park hasn’t made its budget in 10 years.

The Mayor’s Plans

When the corrupt and power-hungry Mayor Brown learns that his city has gone bankrupt, he realizes that his chances of becoming governor are going down the drain. He needs to come up with a money-making scheme soon, so he turns to the only remaining undeveloped land left in the city—Jellystone Park. Selling the logging rights will make him some major dough.

Yogi Strikes Out

When Mayor Brown informs Ranger Smith of his decision, the ranger asks for one week to meet their quarterly quota in order to save the park. He holds a 100 year anniversary celebration hoping to make money on season passes. But when Yogi’s stunts bring danger to the visitors, Ranger Smith’s prospects are crushed.

The Documentary

When all hope seems lost, a woman doing a nature documentary at the park discovers something that could save the park. If only the Mayor would listen...and abide by the law.

The Bottom Line

Yogi Bear is as corny as you would expect. But not in a bad way. Unlike most of the animated films in the last decade, this movie has more humor for kids than adults. But it’s still enjoyable for adults. It’s good, not great. So unless you’re keen on seeing the film in 3D, it might be worth waiting for the rental.

The Bear Bonuses

  • Spending a day at Jellystone Park: Interactive tour
  • Voicing Yogi and Boo Boo: Dan Akroyd and Justin Timberlake
  • Ranger Jones’ Jellystone Park: Includes his real-life audition with a bear!
  • Ranger Smith’s Love Song
  • Are you smarter than the average bear? Interactive picnic challenge
  • Rabid Rider: New Looney Cartoon

Yogi Bear Rating: 3

So even though Tangled was really funny i will always pick Brave. That's a really good point ^-^ I still like Tangled better. The plot made more sense and was better written (in my opinion though) I thought the humor was better as well; definitely a lot less crude! Also, the lack of songs in Brave bummed me out... it is a Disney Princess Movie :/ (Don't argue that it's Pixar!) Wait you think because it's a Disney movie there has to be singing!? Really that's dumb. Ok that Iis just my opinion. But really that's dumb.
