Miami and Eminem
Nineteen year old Lazaro Camejo, who we now know as rapper Bizzy Crook, grew up in Miami. He first realized his passion for playing with words and the art of rap when he was just six years old. His cousin bought him Eminem’s Grammy-award winning album "My Name Is” and Bizzy was amazed and inspired by Eminem’s lyrical creativity. His family didn’t love the idea of a rap career for Bizzy, but that didn’t stop him, he was determined to be a star!
"My first song was off a Ray-J beat, I found a microphone laying around the house, took my father’s boom box, wrote an entire song, recorded it, and played it for my family,” said Bizzy. “My mom was surprised by the song, but she was even more amazed that I could work a boom box at such a young age".
Bizzy continued to excel as a lyricist during his high school years, and would astound his classmates during their lunch breaks with the rhymes he came up with when he battled them. Although he always dreamed of being a rapper, his determination to be a star did not keep him out of trouble and off the streets, and he often drew inspiration from bad choices and struggles that he had, and turned those troubles into lyrics.
"My mother purchased studio equipment to keep me out of trouble, I didn’t know what half of it was, I just thought it looked cool.Once I was more focused, my songs began to sound better."
Once high school was over, he decided to turn a new leaf, move back to Miami and get serious about his career in the rap industry. In Miami Bizzy worked harder than ever on his music and tried to emulate rappers he looks up to like Jay-Z and Ludacris. He was immediately signed by an independent label, Bizzy is now on the rise and destined for great things.
