Top 10 Back to School Commercials

According to Staples Business Depot, back to school is “the most wonderful time of the year.” Well, for parents anyway. But that doesn’t mean students can’t have a little fun too. From the latest school supplies and gadgets to the hottest back to school clothing trends, nothing kicks off the back to school season like commercials. Here are the Top 10 funniest, wackiest, most heart-warming back to school commercials:

No. 10: Zellers

Kicking off the No. 10 spot is an old school Zellers commercial from 1986. We live in a generation where fashions from decades before us have returned and united to create our unique, eclectic style. However, the 80's fashions in this commercial will never be reborn. At least, we hope not. Yikes!

No. 9: Target

This may look like a home video of a teacher who thinks that pretending to play the electric keyboard to one of its premade beats makes him a worthy music instructor, but we assure you it’s a legit commercial. Thanks Target!

No. 8: Meijer

We don’t know about you, but buying school supplies is half the fun of going back to school. The other half is buying new clothes! This Meijer commercial has it all wrong.

No. 7: Staples

Staples always delivers funny back to school commercials. And nothing says funny like a mom covered in baking flour and wet, goopy dough.

No. 6: Staples

This well-known Staples commercial rocks Christmas tunes that call back to school “the most wonderful time of the year.”

No. 5: Best Buy

There’s something really awkward and wonderful about this Best Buy Geek Squad commercial. Check it out.

No. 4: Old Navy

Beware! School is coming! Old Navy shows the horrors of back to school in this hilarious commercial.

No. 3: Old Navy

Look out! In the water! It’s a shar - no wait, a locker! Oh, the horror! Old Navy does it again.

No. 2: Foot Locker

Foot Locker tells it like it is. You can have the latest fashions, the coolest haircut and the hottest accessories. But if you’re a “but-her-shoes,” certain shoe-aholic guys won’t give you the time of day. (Don’t sweat it, those guys aren't good enough for you.)

No. 1: Walmart

Taking the No. 1 spot is not a funny commercial, but a sentimental, heart-warming Walmart ad about a daughter going off to college. It’ll bring a tear to your eye…if you’re as sappy as we are!

I'm not even really sure who the popular kids at my school are. Kids usually wear anything from cute dresses and heels to jeans and a hoodie. It depends on the person because my school doesn't really have any popular people.

It depends on the wealth of the school, the culture of the school, etc., I went to three different middle schools. One wasn't so wealthy, so a lot of them had converse, regular jeans, and over-used Aeropostale and Abercombie shirts. The second one, was a bit more wealthy, but they were a bit redneck. The popular girls and guy wore camo most of the time, along with the girls' hair up and jeans up to their belly buttons (ew). The last one was very wealthy. Some of the parents had gone to the best colleges in the region, and the kids wore anything from Forever 21 to very expensive brands.
