David Guetta Bio

Birthdate: November 7, 1967

Birthplace: Paris, France

Pierre David Guetta is a French DJ, music producer and singer-songwriter who has recently managed to conquer the American charts by producing and teaming up with big names like R&B singer Usher and rapper Nicki Minaj. Find out more about David Guetta in his Kidzworld Bio.

Parisian Pierre

Pierre David Guetta was born in Paris, France to a Moroccan Jewish father and Belgian mother. His father was a restauranteur.  Pierre realized early on that he wanted to be involved with music. At 17-years-old he was already DJing at the Broad Club in Paris, mostly spinning pop music until he became familiar with house music after hearing it on French radio. He started hosting his own nights and eventually started DJing at clubs all over town.

DJ David

Dropping the “Pierre” he DJ’d under the name David Guetta and while honing his skills organizing club nights and putting on parties, David Guetta was also starting to create recordings with other artists, the first ones reaching the public by the early ‘90s. His first recording was a collaboration with French hip hop artist Sidney Duteil for the album Nation Rap.

Guetta’s Gum

In 2001 David Guetta and Joachim Garraud started Gum Productions, in the very same year David released his first hit single: “Just A Little More Love” featuring American singer Chris Willis. The two met while Chris was on vacation in France. The following year David released his debut album using the first single as the title. His follow-up album Guetta Blaster also featured tracks with Chris Willis and Guetta was starting to gain buzz as an international party DJ, playing in well-known vacation party spots like Ibiza.

Non-Stop Pop!

Pop Life, David’s third album, was released in 2007 and by 2009 he was named #3 out of the Top 100 DJs by DJ Magazine and had been named “Best House DJ” at the DJ Awards the year before. His next album One Love featured vocals by Estelle, Kelly Rowland, Akon and LMFAO. By this time David was well-known in the European electronic dance music circuit, but was soon to start conquering mainstream pop charts in North America by joining forces with The Black Eyed Peas, producing their hit song “I Got A Feeling”. Guetta started producing on many top American artists albums, creating some of the most memorable dance hits of the last few years, and showing no sign of stopping so far!

Many of the reviews and critics say it's bad because they are only looking at it from 'comic to movie' perspective. It was still a really cool movie and you should go see it. I'd have to agree with this. The movie itself was great. I think some people looked at it poorly because they were expecting something more similar to the older films or comparing it too hard to the comics. I personally think that it was a great way to reinvent some of the characters.

"It's so hard to talk when you want to k-ll yourself. That's above and beyond everything else, and it's not a mental complaint-it's a physical thing, like it's physically hard to open your mouth and make the words come out. They don't come out smooth and in conjunction with your brain the way normal people's words do; they come out in chunks as if from a crushed-ice dispenser; you stumble on them as they gather behind your lower lip. So you just keep quiet.” Ned Vizzini, "It's Kind of a Funny Story"

“Isn't there something in living dangerously?' There's a great deal in it,' the Controller replied. 'Men and women must have their adrenals stimulated from time to time.' What?' questioned the Savage, uncomprehending. It's one of the conditions of perfect health. That's why we've made the V.P.S. treatments compulsory.' V.P.S.?' Violent Passion Surrogate. Regularly once a month. We flood the whole system with adrenin. It's the complete physiological equivalent of fear and rage. All the tonic effects of murdering Desdemona and being murdered by Othello, without any of the inconvenience.' But I like the inconveniences.' We don't,' said the Controller. 'We prefer to do things comfortably.' But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.' In fact,' said Mustapha Mond, 'you're claiming the right to be unhappy. Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent; the right to have ######## and cancer, the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow; the right to catch typhoid; the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind.' There was a long silence. I claim them all,' said the Savage at last. Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. 'You're welcome,' he said.”
