Get Fit and Have Fun Outdoors!

May 10, 2013

Enjoy the sunshine – and all of the positive benefits that come along with it – by heading outdoors. Not only will you have fun but you can get fit too!

Spring and summer is the perfect time to add outdoor exercise into your regular routine. Since you want to be outside anyway, it is easy to go the extra step and doing something active. Instead of tanning by the pool or reading a book, choose one of these fun activities!

Play Tennis

Grab a couple of rackets and a friend and try hitting the ball around the local court. Most public parks have free tennis courts that anyone can use.

Go Swimming

Don’t just lay by the pool – dive in! Swimming is a fun activity to do by yourself or with friends and family. Just remember to apply waterproof sunscreen before and after.

Ride a Bike

Search the internet for local bike paths and then plan a trip. If you don’t have a bike you can rent one from a local bike shop.

Paddle a Kayak

Going kayaking or canoeing is a great way to enjoy a day on the water if you live near a lake or river.

Hit the Links

Although it might seem like an old person sport, golfing is an awesome way to enjoy the sun. Many golf courses offer deals to students at special times of the day. Call around to get the best deal.

How Often Does Your Family Exercise?

  • All the time - we're a totally fit family.
  • We exercise at least once a week - but we could do more.
  • Not every often - maybe once a month.
  • Never. We're a family of couch potatoes.

If you really want to get rid of the romantic feelings for him, just try picturing a future with him, and also asking these questions in your head, "Is he a good guy?" "Would we last?" But maybe he's acting awkward around you, because your friend asked him to Prom, but he might rather go with you, but doesn't know how to say anything about the situation. I would suggest talking to him about it, and if he is a jerk about it, don't bother. But talk to him first, and if he has the same feelings, then talk to your friend about it. I just want to warn you, that if you do this, you and others could get their feelings hurt. Crushes are a risky, scary thing in high school. Anyway, that's what I think you should do. If you don't want to do that, then follow what your intuition tells you.
