Get Fit and Have Fun Outdoors!

May 10, 2013

Enjoy the sunshine – and all of the positive benefits that come along with it – by heading outdoors. Not only will you have fun but you can get fit too!

Spring and summer is the perfect time to add outdoor exercise into your regular routine. Since you want to be outside anyway, it is easy to go the extra step and doing something active. Instead of tanning by the pool or reading a book, choose one of these fun activities!

Play Tennis

Grab a couple of rackets and a friend and try hitting the ball around the local court. Most public parks have free tennis courts that anyone can use.

Go Swimming

Don’t just lay by the pool – dive in! Swimming is a fun activity to do by yourself or with friends and family. Just remember to apply waterproof sunscreen before and after.

Ride a Bike

Search the internet for local bike paths and then plan a trip. If you don’t have a bike you can rent one from a local bike shop.

Paddle a Kayak

Going kayaking or canoeing is a great way to enjoy a day on the water if you live near a lake or river.

Hit the Links

Although it might seem like an old person sport, golfing is an awesome way to enjoy the sun. Many golf courses offer deals to students at special times of the day. Call around to get the best deal.

How Often Does Your Family Exercise?

  • All the time - we're a totally fit family.
  • We exercise at least once a week - but we could do more.
  • Not every often - maybe once a month.
  • Never. We're a family of couch potatoes.

I'm not afraid of them. I'm just afraid when they'll start thinking I'm worthless. But if I had to choose, I guess my mom since I live most of my life with her.

hey,  don't feel any pressure to come out because ultimately it is your choice. Come out only if you're ready to and feel as if your parents are ready as well.

[s:sm3/1jvy] [s:sm3/1jw1] This post contains love-related talk. Reader discretion is advised.  [s:sm3/1jw1] [s:sm3/1jvy] If you want to talk about love-related subjects like puberty, kissing, tampons/pads, etc... in the right place. Those things should go in the girls-only/boys-only forum or Dear Dish-it. Note for prepubescent users: Kidzworld allows teenagers and pubescent people, too, so don't be surprised to see posts about things like puberty, kissing, tampons/pads, etc. Note that you are allowed to talk about crushes anywhere on the site, there's no exception, feel free to talk about any fictional, imaginary, or real crush anywhere you please, as long as it's in the right forum (e.g. game crushes in the game forum)!
