Lil' Romeo Gametime CD Review

Lil' Romeo blew onto the rappin' scene like a pint-sized ball of fire with his debut CD, Lil' Romeo. The CD was a hit and Romeo scored a ton of fans. Since then, the rapper has grown up a lot, and the music world has changed (good bye Britney. Hello, Avril.) Now, Lil' Romeo has released his second CD, Gametime. Did this CD get bigger and better? Or was Romeo a one-hit wonder?

Gametime is full of catchy tunes and fun rifts. Lil' Romeo continues his streak of lifting, fun, funky song samples and giving them new and improved life within his rhymes. Take, for example, the awesome tune We Can Make It Right. Lil' Romeo sampled Hard Knock Life from the musical Annie and gives it a great new tone with his lyrics about overcoming life's struggles. Gametime is full of gems like We Can Make It Right. Other stand-outs include Play Like Us, Too Long and Boyfriend and Girlfriend. On the last of those tracks, Boyfriend and Girlfriend, Lil' Romeo's lyrics ask the question tons of girls are waiting to hear - "Will you be my girlfriend?" He also describes exactly what it is he looks for in a girl. (I've got a feelin' lots of fans will wear this track out!)

The bottom line is, Lil' Romeo is no one-hit wonder. The boy's got the potential to hit bigger and last longer than his famous dad and this record shows it! Rap on Romeo!
