Dear Dish-It,

I don't know what subjects I should take next year. I'll be in 8th grade then. I'm in 7th grade now. I don't know what to take and it's almost time to choose at my school. Got any advice?

Dear aas,

Heading to high school comes with a ton of stress and having to choose your classes can be a bit overwhelming. There are two things you should think about when picking the classes that you are going to study in grade 8. One, what subjects are you absolutely going to need to get through high school successfully (like English, Math, maybe a science class.) Next, what subjects do you enjoy and know you will do well at? Are you more of a Home Ec fan, or would you rather be getting your hands dirty in a mechanics class? Are you a drama queen who would dig drama class, or are you a computer freak and think you'd love a tech class? Everyone needs something to look forward to at school cuz it makes those not-so-enjoyable classes go by just a little bit faster. If you're really stumped about what classes are best for you, talk to a school counselor - they'll be more than happy to go over all your options with you. Good Luck!
