NBA LEGO Sets

Dec 27, 2006

The world's best building blocks have teamed up with the world's most slamtastic league to create a basketball game that's cooler than an Allen Iverson crossover move.

With LEGO Basketball, you can build your own court, then start your own NBA action with spring-loaded, mini-figure players who can shoot, pass and even slam dunk. The LEGO Basketball sets include NBA Challenge, which is a mini NBA arena and Streetball 2 vs. 2, which lets you create a LEGO blacktop court. LEGO has also created smaller sets which you can build to practice your LEGO basketball skills or have slam dunk contests. There's even 24 NBA mini-figures which include Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Steve Francis and Dirk Nowitzki. Collect them all and you can make your own NBA All-Star Team!

The spring-loaded figures are the coolest part about LEGO Basketball, but shooting and passing takes a while to get the hang of. I had to take about 50 shots with my LEGO b-ball dude before I actually hit net which became a bit frustrating (although, that's probably good enough to get me a starting job with the Knicks or the Clippers.) Once you've mastered the skills, LEGO Basketball is a blast. You can shoot threes, try reverse dunks and even block your opponent's shots. LEGO Basketball sets are priced from $3.99 to $79.99 US. The only question Kidzworld has is, when is WNBA LEGO coming out?
