Alexa Vega - In The Beginning

Though she burst onto the scene in 2001 with the first installment of the Spy Kids trilogy, Alexa Vega has actually been acting for a lot longer than that. Ever since landing her first full-time gig at the wee age of five on the Burt Reynolds sitcom Evening Shade, Alexa has been working almost non-stop. She spent her early years living on a farm in Florida, until her family moved to California when she was just four.

Alexa Vega - Takin' Care of Business

After Evening Shade left the airwaves in 1994, Alexa began appearing in both movies and television shows. She's spent a lot of time playing the children of big celebrities in movies like Nine Months, Ghosts of Mississippi, and The Deep End of the Ocean. She even played a young version of Helen Hunt in Twister! Other small parts followed - including a role opposite Doc Ock himself, Alfred Molina, in a short-lived sitcom - but it wasn't until Robert Rodriguez cast her in a little movie called Spy Kids that her career really took off.

Alexa Vega - The Best Is Yet To Come

Though Alexa has said that she doesn't think there will be another Spy Kids movie, you can expect to see a lot more of her in the coming months. Right now she can be seen in Sleepover, a comedy that costars another hot young actress, Mika Boorem. In the fall, look for Alexa in a completely different role in States Evidence - a drama about a school shooting. Whatever the future has in store for Alexa Vega, it's clear that she's not just another pretty face!
