The Sandlot 2 DVD Review

School's out for the summer and the Sandlot kids are ready to play baseball! Read Kidzworld's review to find out if they can score a home run in The Sandlot 2.

The Sandlot 2 - Little League Showdown

It's the summer of '72 and a new gang of boys has discovered the Sandlot. They can't wait to swing bats and steal bases in the dugout all summer long - until they realize that a group of girls want to play ball there too! After reluctantly agreeing to let the girls join their gang, friendships form, rivals result and first love blossoms between David (Max Lloyd-Jones) and Hayley (Samantha Burton), the leaders of both groups. In the midst of all this is little Johnnie Smalls (James Willson), who's more interested in rockets than baseball. When he stumbles across an amazing model rocket one afternoon, he accidentally sets it off. It sails over the fence and into the backyard of Mr. Mertle (played by James Earl Jones), the owner of a ferocious dog that supposedly eats kids!

The Sandlot 2 - Houston, We Have a Problem

The Sandlot kids now have to get the rocket back before any of their parents notice, but how can they do that without running into the insane mutt that's known as The Big Fear? At first, their wacky methods of trying to retrieve the rocket are funny, but it soon gets tiring to watch one failed attempt after another. Will the gang successfully conquer the crazy beast that's laid claim to their rocket, or will they have to walk away with their heads hanging low?

The Sandlot 2 - Bottom Line

The Sandlot 2 is a fun family flick that takes you back to the good ol' days when you didn't have a care in the world and spent lazy summer days daydreaming in your backyard. Watching this movie may even inspire you to play a few innings of baseball with your pals or 'rents!

If I had to make simple choice, I'd prefer to live in It's Kind of a Funny Story simply for the people who were held in it. Despite the location setting for the story, I feel as if I could very easily fall for the characters all over again, especially in an even more personal matter. But, of course, if I was  going with a straight up fantasy like everyone seems to be, I'd most likely go with a world like Dorthy Must Die series or Alice in Wonderland. Both being these magical worlds filled with quirky creatures and people, so how could you get bored? Oh, and of course let us not forget the plenty of harrowing fight scenes for freedom from the evil queens and her many brainless followers.

The Iron Giant was way too advanced in some ways to be a child's movie, yet it was.

I would live in The Outsiders because it's a classic book. I would love to go on adventures with the gang and read books and watch movies with Ponyboy. (Because I too always believed I was the only one who enjoyed them.) I would love to open up to Johnny because he is such a kind hearted soul.
