Joss Whedon's Serenity movie is in theaters and we have a review!

According to Joss Whedon, in the future space is split between the wild 'n free outlying worlds and the boring Alliance worlds. Out in the middle of all this space is captain Malcolm Reynolds, his ship Serenity and his not-so-faithful crew. So, what's the deal with this movie from the master of all things Buffy? Here's the scoop.

Serenity - Joss Whedon's Latest Project

Once Joss finished with Buffy and Angel, he made a wicked sci-fi TV show called Firefly. It was about a spaceship full of weirdos. From a tough guy with a girl's name, to a pilot with toy dinosaurs, a nutbar of a girl with the Alliance on her tail and a half-dozen other folks, it was chaos in space! But, the show crashed and burned, so Joss made it into the Serenity movie so he could turn the story of running from the Alliance into a wicked adventure.

Serenity - The Coolest Thing in Deep Space

Serenity is the best sci-fi movie of the year, it even makes Star Wars look like two nerds playing with their lightsabers. It's packed with cool quotes, has action scenes that'll leave you hangin' onto the edge of your seat, hilarious characters, bad guys that'll scare you 'til you soil your shorts, and a really cool story. The best part about Serenity has to be how it has nine characters and they're all cool, or maybe it's the mind-blowingly awesome fight scenes, or maybe it's how all the special effects look fantastic, or, or, well, you get the idea.

Serenity - Rough Stuff in Space

Brace yourself folks, Serenity is a pretty brutal movie. The "good" guys are thieves and the bad guys get even worse, and then you'll meet the REALLY bad guys. Eat your popcorn fast then hang onto the bag in case you need to hurl.

Serenity - DVD Features

This DVD includes commentary from writer/director Joss Whedon, deleted scenes and a bunch of hilarious outtakes. Don't forget to check out the featurettes on the original TV show, Firefly, either!

Serenity - Bottom Line
If you can handle a movie with some bite, check this out. Then see it again. Then take your friends. And again when they take their friends. Even if you don't like sci-fi movies, go see it. Joss Whedon, the master of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel has made a truly awesome movie that just happens to be set in deep space.

Serenity Movie Rating: 5

Alright let me start out by saying that, I do not think you should be forced to like anime. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions out what they watch. But their is some bogus reason to why people say they hate it. 1. "Anime is For Kids" - Alright we all know this isn't true. Sure some are directed towards kids but ones like Tokyo Ghoul, Attack On Titan, Boku no Pico, and several others that would definitely change people's mind. 2. "Anime is a bad influence" - And Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead arent?  3. "Anime has very inappropriate messages to them that are harmful to children and adults" - Doesnt everything have their little "parodies" of the original that may have a rating of Triple X? If its out there, there is a "parody" of it. Not just anime.
