Things aren't going to well for ten-year old Max. He
gets bullied at school, his parents are always fighting and he has problems
making friends. Max is also a bit of a
dreamer, who's always talking and writing about his two imaginary superhero friends,
Shark Boy (played by
Taylor Lautner) and
Lava Girl (Taylor Dooley). But one day, Shark Boy and Lava Girl turn out to be real and seek Max's help in saving their homeland,
Planet Drool, from being overcome by darkness. Max is transported to Planet Drool with his
superhero friends, where the three must battle the evil
Minus and keep the power of dreaming alive.
Shark Boy and Lava Girl - 3-D Excitement
Hang on to your
pop corn! Shark Boy and Lava Girl is a
crazy three-dimensional ride through
evil electric chords, boats shaped like banana splits and
rivers filled with
milk. You see all these incredible places through a
pair of 3-D glasses, so things like giant cookies and the flames from
Lava Girl's hands appear to jump right out of the screen. The
3-D graphics are the best part of
Shark Boy and Lava Girl and will keep your eyes glued to the screen.
Shark Boy and Lava Girl - DVD Features
The
3-D action of Shark Boy and Lava Girl has finally made its way to DVD! You can take in
all the superhero fun in the comfort of your own
living room, cuz the new video comes complete with
four pairs of 3-D glasses! If you're not into such an
intense movie experience, you can also watch the flick
in 2-D.
Shark Boy and Lava Girl - The Bottom Line
The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl is a movie packed with
sweet special effects, nasty villains and some pretty
mind-blowing 3-D action. Once the rush from all this
visual excitement wears off, the storyline from this flick gets a bit confusing and even drags a bit. Somewhere underneath all that
eye candy, there appears to be a message about the importance of believing in
your dreams. But don't worry about that - just keep those 3-D glasses on and
enjoy the ride to Planet Drool.
