Super Mario Strikers: Gamecube Soccer Game Review
Mario, Peach, Wario and the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom gang are stepping onto the pitch for a dose of crazy soccer action! The new Super Mario Strikers game for the Nintendo Gamecube lets you play as your fave character in a game that's part soccer and part Super Smash Bros. Check out our game review for more info.
Kickin' it in the Mushroom KingdomSuper Mario Strikers is a soccer game, but it's a crazy one! You pick one of your fave Mario peeps as a team captain, pick your teammates, and then it's game time. Once you start playing, things go nuts in single player and multiplayer modes! From scoring goals to winning cups and laying the beats with DK, it's awesome action.
Winning Moves in Super Mario StrikersWhat makes this Gamecube game really kick butt is that it's super easy to play and the action is non-stop and over the top. Penalties get turned into power-ups for your opponent, Bowser stops by to stomp on everyone, huge chain chomp attacks and giant shells turn the pitch into a battlefield, and you can unleash a powered-up shot on goal with just one button.
Super Wipeouts in Super Mario StrikersThe biggest bummer in this game, other than the lack of team radar, is that there's not a lot to unlock. Once you've played the basic game, there are a few extras, but there's nothing to keep you playing for more than a few hours.
Final Score for Super Mario StrikersSuper Mario Strikers is the best party game ever! Up to four people can jump in and kick it at the same time, the action is crazy and the power ups are awesome. It's a bit weak as a single-player game, but the multiplayer action is addictive and incredibly fun.
