Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game: Elemental Energy Set Review

Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game: Elemental Energy Set Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Dec 27, 2006
( Rating: 4 Star Rating)

We review the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game Elemental Energy expansion set!

The 60-card Elemental Energy set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game is here! It's full of new cards for Elemental Hero decks, a whole new Dark World theme for decks and a few new monsters that'll knock your opponent's life points down to zero. Check out our review of the set.

Elemental Energy Set Cards and Powers!

There are 60 new cards in this set and here are the new powers, strategies and themes!
  • Dark World Monsters - These monsters are all about being Special Summoned if they're discarded.
  • Elemental Heroes - There are new Elemental Hero creatures and cards that combo with them.
  • Crushing Level 3 Monsters - A handful of cards absolutely flatten Level 3 monsters.
  • Familiar-Possessed Creatures - The Elemental Charmer cards from the Lost Millennium set are back and stronger.
  • Fusion and Union Cards - Lots of new cards power up or destroy Fusion Monsters, and there are new Union cards that combine to get stronger.
  • Powerful Cards and Combos in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Elemental Energy Set

This set has a few super-powerful cards, like Pot of Avarice (put five monsters from your Graveyard into your Deck and draw two cards) and more Elemental Hero Fusion Monsters. The Dark World monsters are good too cuz they really mess up annoying discard decks. Plus, Familiar-Possessed creatures have 1850 Attack with four stars and you can power them up!

Lame-O Cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Elemental Energy Set

There are a few cards that just plain suck in this set, like the ones that clobber Level 3 creatures, and the ones that only work if you have certain Elemental Heroes out. The new super-powerful Water Dragon is lame too, it's only strong against pyro/fire decks and it's really hard to summon!

Worth Plugging Into the Yu-Gi-Oh! Elemental Energy Set?

It powers up Elemental Hero decks, has some good cards and the Dark World monsters really kick butt! It's worth grabbing a few packs and trading the lame rares, like Water Dragon and VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon, for the good rares, like Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World.

    Yu-Gi-Oh! Elemental Energy Thumbs Up:

  • Pot of Avarice = awesome card!
  • Wicked new Dark World cards.
  • The Familiar-Possessed creatures are solid.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Elemental Energy Thumbs Down:

  • The Water Dragon is too hard to summon!
  • Cards that clobber L3 creatures, why?
  • VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon = useless!
  • Elemental Energy Rating: 4

(Ship name: Star-Spider) This child is a bringer of good throughout the world, wearing a spandex costume looking like a normal super-hero's, but includes a fashionable tutu and pink material. The web that she shoots out of her hand hand be melded into any shape they want with a spoken spell, depending on the situation and amount of web they have available. If she gets her hand on her mother's wand, this child can be quite a force to be reckoned with: she has much more natural talent than her mother but much, much less control, and can cause massive amounts of collateral damage if she is not kept in check. She has an optimistic look on life and a perky attitude that can sometimes be annoying, but can become dead serious in the face of danger and is perfectly tuned for the life of a vigilante, no matter how much the villains laugh when they first see her. Next ship: Bill Cipher x Dipper Pines (Bill-Dip)
