Casting Call - The Kids Are In Charge: Family Vacation

You're used to taking orders from your 'rents and being barked at by your big bro, but how would ya like to be the boss for a nice change? Here's your chance - just audition for a new show on the Travel Channel called The Kids Are In Charge: Family Vacation by June 26, 2006! Get the casting call 411 right here.

The Kids Are In Charge: Family Vacation - You're in Charge!

The Travel Channel is part of Discovery, which has brought you Endurance and Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls. Now they're bringing you a whole new show where you - yes, YOU - get to take charge of the family holiday while your 'rents take the backseat! They're currently searching for a fun family who'll bring more to the table than a side of bacon. That means you've got to be interesting, enthusiastic and energetic! Each episode will showcase the hilarity that ensues as parents hand control of the family vacation over to the kids. The Travel Channel is looking for a couple of things - a family with three or more kids aged 7-16 (one kid must be over 10 years old) who are able to travel for four to five days during June, July or August.

Open casting calls are currently being held in the following cities. Call 1-323-860-8075 for audition dates.
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Hartford, CT
  • Springfield, MA

    If you can't make it to the casting calls, here's what you have to do.
  • Download and fill out the Family Application and Release form. Get a copy by clicking here.
  • Make a five minute videotape of you and your family telling the peeps at Travel Channel why they should choose you. You can include stuff like what your family is like, how you get along and previous vacations you went on.
  • Send three photographs - one of your 'rents, one of the kids and one of the entire family.
  • Mail everything to P.O. Box 4351-1380, Hollywood, CA, 90078. Get on it quick cuz the deadline to apply is June 26, 2006!

It's really nice that your mother supports it, that always helps!! I'm glad that your family enjoys his company as well. Being 16 while he's 20 is alright. It's a slight odd age gap. But, I think as long as you both are ready, it's alright. Make sure you're mature and safe with your choices though. Personally, I think you should wait until you're closer to at least, 17. But, as long as you two are smart about what you're doing, it should be alright when it come around to it.

You can still talk to him when it comes to your anxiety attacks and all of that because I have those too every night so I know how it feels, but maybe you should wait. But at the end of the day it's your decision I'm just here to give advice

    I feel like that too. My best friend will always hang out with her 'new friends' that I have a really bad opinion about. My friend will treat me rudely all the time and sometimes make fun of me with her friends. But, when I needed her the most in my life, she was there for me, and I told her how I felt. She says that she just wants to hang out with more people and apologized, people can be a little teasy at times.  Also, after seeing each other for a long time, people make new friends and start hanging out with them more, it doesn't mean that she doesn't like you.  This may be different for you, but just tell her about it, she will have to know you feelings at one point.  Hope I helped you.
