Want to conquer the galaxy as a psychic fish? How about battle space bugs with giant starships? The Sword of the Stars lets you do all that, and more! It's a smokin' hot space strategy game for your computer that combines colonizing planets with sweet looking space battles. Gary strapped on his space helmet and here's his game review!

Sword of the Stars - Welcome to the Galaxy

In The Sword of the Stars, you control one of four alien races and it's up to you to take over the galaxy and put the smackdown on everybody else. Controlling your space empire lets you create new technologies, custom-build spaceships, colonize distant planets, meet weird space monsters, battle enemies and more. Each alien race is totally different too, here's a list of the races and what makes them special.
  • Hivers - Bugs! Their ships are slow and strong, but they have gate ships so once they arrive they can teleport in more ships.
  • Human - That's us! We fly through space with super fast node drives, but we don't always go where we want.
  • Liir - Psychic space fish that teleport their ships across the galaxy, one inch at a time.
  • Tarka - Monkey/lizard alien warriors with basic ships and lots of weapons.
  • Sword of the Stars - Kicking Butt

What's awesome is that even though there's a ton of stuff you can do, it's super easy to play The Sword of the Stars. The graphics are smokin' too, especially the bigger ships. The voices for the aliens are really weird, but they're perfect! And, multiplayer gaming is 'da bomb - you can leave a game in the middle of the action and the computer will take over for you. You can join a game in mid-game too, even a game you just left!

Sword of the Stars - Lost in Space

As cool as the spaceships are, they're hard to control in combat! The battles are huge, the ships are small, and it's hard to see how much damage anything has taken. Once you get used to the battles, you can keep track of things, but it's not easy at first.

Sword of the Stars - Galactic Empire or Space Junk?

It's a space strategy game that's easy to play, full of cool aliens, and incredible-looking spaceships. Even though the combat is a bit tricky at first, the multiplayer rules and it's a rock-solid game for anyone that wants to conquer the depths of space and clobber weird aliens!

Sword of the Stars Thumbs Up:

  • Great alien voices!
  • Build huge fleets of super-cool looking spaceships.
  • Customize your game and play how you want.
  • Lots of multiplayer options.
  • Really weird aliens.
  • Sword of the Stars Thumbs Down:

  • Tricky to control your ships in battle at first.
  • Hard to figure out what's going on in battle.

Those of you who have used the "Easter Egg" on Toontown might be in for a rude awakening.  Whether or not you are aware of this, using the teleport bots has a chance of getting you banned!  These bots are NOT made by Disney and are made by a HACKER.  However, they do not give you any kind of keylogger.
