We review the new Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game set: Power of the Duelist!

Yu-Gi-Oh! card game duelists, brace yourself for an invasion of aliens, dinosaurs and heroes! The new 60-card Power of the Duelist set is packed with 'em, plus lots of new cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX TV show. Gary checked 'em all out and here's his Power of the Duelist set review!

Power of the Duelist - Aliens, Dinosaurs and Heroes

This set has a bunch of cards that power up older sets, plus more monsters and a bunch of new aliens. Here's the 411 on the new cards in this set.

  • Aliens - These new monsters weaken other creatures with A Counters and power-up by taking control of your opponents monsters!
  • Roids! - More Roid monsters show up with power-ups and Fusion cards.
  • Dinosaurs - If you like big scaly monsters, you're in luck!
  • Heroes - There are Destiny, Elemental and new Neo Space Heroes in this set!
  • Power of the Duelist - Powerful Cards and Strategies

What's really sweet about this set is that there are a bunch of powerful monsters that any duelist can use! From the 2700 Defense Destiny Hero Defender, to Sabersaurus, Submarineroid, Black Stego, Bitelon to the awesome Ultimate Tyranno that can attack all of your opponent's creatures with its 3000 Attack. There are also some powerful Fusion cards, Fossil Excavation and the excellent Mausoleum of the Emperor that lets you summon creatures without tributing!

Power of the Duelist - Lame Cards!

The new alien monsters in this set, well they suck. If they don't get a serious power-up in another set they're better off as bookmarks. The same goes for the Roid creatures. There are a bunch of them, plus new Fusion monsters, and cards to power them up, but they're still weak.

Power of the Duelist - How Powerful is the Set?

Even though the Alien and Roid creatures aren't very good, there are excellent cards for new players, some decent Hero creatures and a some powerful Fusion cards that are great in any deck. Definitely grab some of these cards, especially if you like dinosaurs!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of the Duelist Thumbs Up:

  • Giant stompy dinosaur monsters!
  • Great new Fusion cards.
  • Good Destiny Hero monsters.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of the Duelist Thumbs Down:

  • Weak Alien monsters.
  • The new Roid cards aren't very good.
  • Power of the Duelist Set Rating: 4

The first game came out in 1991  ;) Anyway, I love Sonic! I stink at the games though lol My favorite characters are Knuckles and Charmy And I agree that this is the best single-player game ever!

At least you aren't restricted to TTC/or be only able to try the 3-day trial.  We're actually very lucky now; nonmembers don't give Disney a lick of money. I think Toontown is very different from Club Penguin.  It has a full plot and it's 3-Dimensional.  Also, you don't really do all that much in Club Penguin other than chat and do some mini-missions.  Also, the games were targeted to a different audience... and I feel that Toontown has more memories than Club Penguin; though that may be a bit biased as I don't really have any friends on Club Penguin (LOL), don't really play anymore anyway.

It's like club penguin, I've played it before and you have to pay for almost everything.
