Dear Dish-It, I Really Want to

Dear Dish-It,

I am almost 14 years old and I REALLY want to have sex. What do I do?
puppyluverteen

Dear puppyluverteen,

Don't do anything! At 14 years old, you're too young to be having sex. The fact that you're asking me what to do tells me that you're not fully aware of the heavy responsibilities that come with sex - because it's not just fun and games. Do you know that having sex can lead to pregnancy and/or STDs like chlamydia, genital herpes and HIV, which leads to the deadly disease, AIDS? That's definitely not stuff that 12 year olds like you should be dealing with! For now, go snowboarding, rent some DVDs, hit the mall with your BFF, play board games with the family, belt out your fave tunes on your MP3 player. There are a ton of things that peeps your age can and should be doing, but having sex isn't one of them.

So, you got burning question? Need some love directions? Thinking about stuff like depression, sex,how ya feel 'bout YOURSELF (that's called "self-esteem"), boyfriends, girlfriends, losing old friends, bullying or peer pressure, but too scared to ask the parents? Don't be scared to Dish-It here. But 'member, if ya hang out in Chat with other Kidzworld members who know ya by your 'username', ya might want to use a secret nickname when ya write in. That way no one will ever know it's you. And, just in case ya don't know, Dish-It gets a lot of letters everyday, and she can't answer 'em all. So keep checking the column because she's probably answering something very similar to your question while you're out doing something else. K? And Thanks! Ya keep her outta trouble. Oh! And if you have got words of wisdom you want to share, We'll dish 'em up, too.

Maybe they're trying a little too hard to impress you. Maybe they're desperate for a friend and don't want to lose you so they're trying to please you. Just calmly ask them if they could stop trying to be exactly like you and instead be themselves, because people like to be friends who are themselves. Good luck! -HannahG

Hey, just move on. If she/he can't see what a great person you are, then they don't deserve you. You're an amazing person and if they believe differently, then they don't have a clue about what they're missing. -HannahG

Look, I know that it's bad what she did. It's wrong. But there's nothing you can do about that. Let her live her own life, the best thing to do is just leave it alone. If she wants to take care of a child, she'll deal with the consequences. She makes her own decisions, so if that's what she wants then you shouldn't interfere with it. Forget her. Just don't make the same mistake. I know some girls out there believe that their boyfriend totally loves them, and if they have ########### they'll love their girl even more. That's not always the truth. They always say it's not gonna be me, I'm not gonna make the same mistake, my boyfriend loves me no matter what, and they turn out wrong. That's the end of my rant. Just leave her alone, you'll be better off. -HannahG
