Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller – Nintendo DS Game Review

The Duel Academy is the hottest place in the world for Yu-Gi-Oh! duelists from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX cartoon TV show. It’s where Jaden Yuki and all the greatest players learn the skills to become a world famous professional. The Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller video game for Nintendo DS lets you join the Duel Academy as a new student and put your dueling skills to the test against the characters from the show as you prove that you’re a master duelist. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller - Freshman Duelist!

As a new duelist, you start by creating a duelist character - complete with freaky hair - then you grab a Starter Deck and get going! Each day you attend classes, then duel to earn points to get more cards. After a while you start hearing spirit voices and end up on a crazy adventure! You can also duel your friends with the DS’ wireless connection, and even duel online!

Bonus cards! Each copy of this game scores you Brain Crusher, Hunter Owl and Masked Chopper cards for the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game. Plus, it’s a great way to get some dueling in when you can’t find a friend to play with - there are tons of online duelists so you’ll always be able to find a duel!

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller - Dueling Downers

The biggest problem with Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller is that there’s no tutorial and the instructions are useless, so new players will have a rough time. It also takes forever to get good cards for your deck, unless you use this awesome game cheat!

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Spirit Caller - Elite Blue or Slifer Slacker?

Unless you’re a hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! fan who already knows how to duel, this game is rough. Once you get started though, the adventure is fun, the controls are solid, and you can do a lot of online dueling without having to worry about online freaks.
