Magic, destiny and time travel take over ordinary Will Stanton's life the second he turns 14. Can a self-conscious boy really be the one chosen to save the world? Kidzworld checked out the film adaptation of Susan Cooper's novel, The Dark is Rising. Check out the review right here!
The Seeker - Destiny CallsAs if going through puberty with five older brothers harassing you isn't enough, Will Stanton discovers on his 14th birthday, just days before Christmas, that he has a destiny to fulfill! As The Seeker, Will must find six signs and use them to fight the Dark Rider to save the world from being devoured by the dark. What happens if he doesn't succeed? Just the end of the world!
The Seeker - Who Can You Trust? With the help of the Old Ones (a few local elders who take Will under their wing), Will finds himself traveling through time, wielding great powers and learning things about his past he never knew. On top of all the magical drama, Will has to face down the growing threat of the Dark Rider, who is starting to enlist people close to Will to fight against him!
The Seeker - Bottom LineAnthony Ludwig gives a great performance as the troubled Will Stanton so you can guarantee you'll be seeing a lot more of him in the next little while. If you're an Everwood fan, you'll want to check out The Seeker to get your latest Gregory Smith fix - he plays one of Will's older brothers. The Seeker may not have what it takes to compete with the fireworks that a Harry Potter movie brings to the theater, but it's a cool fantasy flick, especially for fans of the Susan Cooper book.
