Playing Paintball
Paintball Protective GearLooking for a sport that lets you wear cool cammo clothes, hide in the woods and shoot gobs of paint at your friends? Then you should be
playing paintball. What could be more fun than
running through the trees with a
paintball gun trying to hit someone?
Paintball PlayersPaintball - Easy and Safe
Paintball is an easy and safe sport that can be played between teams with one, two, five or even a thousand players per side. There are several different
paintball games to play but the most common paintball game is
"capture the flag". The object of the game is to go out and capture the other team's flag while protecting your own.
Paintball fields have lots of obstacles like forts, tires or even old cars set up for players to hide behind to make the game even more challenging. It's like being part of a
real-life video game!
Paintball - Guns and Ammo
While you are trying to capture a flag in
paintball, you also try to eliminate players on the other team by tagging them with a
paintball fired from a special
paintball gun. These paintball guns are powered by
CO2 or compressed air and fire small pellets of paint. Getting hit may leave you with a bit of a welt - but it doesn't usually
hurt too much. The paint washes off with
soap and water so don't worry about having a permanent "scar" from playing. Games usually run from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of players and the size of the
paintball field the game is played on.
Paintball - Safety Gear
The most important thing to remember when playing paintball is to always
protect your eyes and face with proper
paintball gear. Players must always wear special safety equipment including goggles and a facemask. You may also wear gloves, paintball armor and camouflage clothing so you can stay hidden in the
trees and bushes.
Paintball - Course and Markers
You should only play
paintball games on a
proper course that has markers and a
referee. It can be
extremely dangerous to fire a paintball gun inside your house, at school or at the mall. So if you buy any
paintball equipment, only use the gear when you're playing a properly monitored game - or else you or someone else are very likely to get hurt. If you wear all the proper gear and equipment and follow all the rules -
paintball is a really safe and fun sport. But if you're a
big wimp who's afraid of a little paint, you can always stick to laser tag or playing checkers with your grandma.
