2002 (Maverick)

Austin Powers flicks are known for fun, groovy tunes that make ya wanna get up and do yo thang - and this soundtrack is no different. Not only does Destiny's Child's front woman, Beyonce Knowles, play Austin Powers' love interest, Foxxy Cleopatra, she also sings one of the funkiest tracks on the CD. Beyonce Knowles' song Work it Out is so funky it puts the "F" in funk. Work it Out has some great bass lines and even sounds like it was recorded in the '70s! Beyonce Knowles isn't the only family member makin' music, her little sister, Solange, gives Beyonce a hand on the tune Hey Goldmember.

A soundtrack wouldn't be complete without a tune from the teen queen. Britney Spears is on the Austin Powers: Goldmember soundtrack with a remix version of her tune Boys. This time, in the remix, Brit gets a lil' help from Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. The Austin Powers in Goldmember soundtrack also includes a little gem called Ain't No Mystery by Smash Mouth - who is known for using cool '60s sounding organs in their tunage.

Mike Myers' band Ming Tea (Remember, their song BBC from the first Austin Powers flick?) are back with a new song, Daddy Wasn't There. It's a guitar-driven rock track and the enhanced CD also includes the video. The only "evil" thing I found about the Austin Powers in Goldmember CD is that, unlike the other Austin Powers soundtracks, this one doesn't have very many retro tunes, those groovy instrumentals or audio movie clips between songs. Despite this, the Austin Powers in Goldmember soundtrack rates WAY higher than Mini Me could reach.
