So ya dig sports but need some help with your game? Don't understand some of the rules of football, basketball or hockey? Got a gripe about P.E. class, skateboarders, cheerleading, coaches, or anything? Why not ?

1Hey Coach,
I don't think my high school coach likes me. No matter what I do or how much I improve, he still finds something to nit-pick at me for. He doesn't do this with the other guys. I am a good baseball player and have great stats to prove it. He tells me I am doing really well and then the next game he sends me down to JV, over younger guys. I hit well, I don't have passed balls, I throw out runners 2 to 1 over the other catchers and I have a good attitude. A lot of transfer guys come to our school and their parents make deals with the coach. HELP! Should I just transfer out or should I fight for my position?

Hey Mike07,
You've gotta fight for your postion, man! Don't act like a whiner or a cry baby - but politely tell your coach how you feel. Ask him why he appears to be harder on you, than he is on other players. He may be pushing you a little harder and challenging you because he thinks you have the potential to be much better than all the other players. Don't transfer out until you have a better idea of what your coach is thinking.

Unfortunately, your coach may be getting influenced by the parents of other players. In high school sports (just like in the pros,) the dirty hand of politics often comes into play. Your coach may be treating other players better than you because he's friends with another player's parents or because another player's parents offered the coach a discount on his car repairs. It's totally unfair - but it does happen. Your best bet is to keep working hard and show your coach you deserve to be the starting catcher.

Do you need tips or advice on sports, fitness or health? to the Kidzworld Coach. Keep in mind peeps, the Kidzworld Coach isn't a doctor or a professional athlete or anything like that. He's just a dude who digs sports, plays 'em and knows a lot about 'em. You should always talk to your 'rents, a doctor or your school gym teacher before starting a new sport or a new exercise.
